Senator Cyril Fasuyi, representing Ekiti North Senatorial District, today empowered local farmers by providing essential agricultural inputs. The senator distributed two spraying pumps, two bags of fertilizer,three cartons of herbicides ( Shoperkill and Tamafit) , and N20,000 for purchasing seedlings for over 200 beneficiaries.Additionally, each beneficiary received N5,000 as transportation fare.
Chief Niyi Ojo, who represented the Senator at the occasion expressed the appreciations and gratitudes of the Senator to the constituents for their support and prayers. He emphasised that beneficiaries were selected in consultation with the Local Government Party Chairmen and other leaders to ensure that genuine farmers were chosen.
Over two hundred beneficiaries attended the event, expressing their excitement and gratitude. Mr. Afolayan Abiodun from Ikun Ward praised the empowerment program, noting its difference from previous initiatives, where inputs were often given to individuals who would sell them rather than use them. He commended Senator Fasuyi for his longstanding generosity.
Mr Ogundipe Joshua from Ward 5, Ikole Ekiti, echoed similar sentiments, appreciating that the recipients were farmers. He offered prayers for the senator’s continued success.
Hon. Ogungbemi, Chairman of Ajoni LCDA, praised the senator and highlighted the importance of such support during rising food prices. He prayed for more grace for Senator Fasuyi to continue his impactful work.
